Going from four to five
Yep, it's true! At the beginning of this year, the Lord placed adoption on our hearts and we're excited to announce that we're currently in the process of adopting a little boy or a little girl from China. No news on how old yet but we do know that he/she will be younger than Andrew ๐
"Woah, Brooke! Where did this come from?!" you might ask. Well, I'd be happy to tell you! And you can be sure that Brad and I will be sharing both our stories as to how we came to this decision as well as updates on every step of the process from here until he/she is officially ours.
For us, this process started in our minds in January and on paper in February. And since then our brains and lives have been FLOODED (maybe more like tsunamied) with adoption questions, paperwork, education, and emotions. While we feel like we've learned a lot, we know that we still have so much more to learn.
"Brooke, I know, but like, what made you decide to have a third?"
"And why adopt instead of have another biological child?"
"And why China?"
"And how much does adoption really cost?"
"And what do Abi and Andrew think?"
"And where is he/she going to sleep?"
"And do you have any names in mind?"
"And what do you plan on making for he/she's first breakfast????"
Breathe, friends. Over the next coming weeks, we'll be unpacking all things Varner Adoption and giving you both a front row seat to our story and the opportunity to jump in the story with us.
That being said, it would be our absolute honor and privilege to have you follow alongside us in this journey (Lord knows we're going to need the support) and we'd love to answer any questions you might have to the best of our ability.
For today, though, we figure letting the cat out of the bag that the Varners are growing from four to five is the best place to start ๐There and with a little announcement video we made ๐
But if you're looking to jump into our story right away - we totally get that. There are three things we could use right now:
- Prayer: Now that we've decided that a child from China already has a place in our home and in our hearts, there's no reason for that child to be in his/her orphanage ANY longer than they have to. Pray that the Lord would protect that child and bring them home as soon as possible.
- Help covering the financial costs: The projected cost of our adoption is approximately $37,500 (wipes sweat from brow). Not gonna lie, that's a lot of money. But we would pay more if we had to. If you would like to join our journey in a financial way, we would be forever indebted to your generosity. Click HERE to visit our GoFundMe page to donate.
- Share: If you're a social media guru (tips hat to you), please consider sharing our GoFundMe page. Every share brings us closer to bringing our child home.

Much love,
Brooke
