Packing 101 - Day 4
We're almost going to GA! Yipee! It's Day 4!
Like I included in the other posts, if you need to print out any packing lists, you can go here to download them!
Alrighty, if you remember from yesterday, today is our "forgotten load of laundry" day. This simply means that we're going to gather up any remaining clothing items - that haven't been washed (duh) - that we still need to pack. And then (get excited), we're actually going to do that small load of laundry. That's right, Day 4 doesn't like any procrastinating, people!
After this load of laundry is done, we can add the missing clothing pieces to our uncompleted outfits and officially pack them in our suitcase! Be sure to wipe the sweat off your brow after this step.
My hope at the end of Day 4 is to have all my clothing items (and Abilene's clothing items) packed, leaving just a few random toiletries and travel items (like my cell phone/charger, plane tickets, etc.) for Day 5.
If you don't have any kiddos traveling with you, kick your feet back because you have nothing else to do until tomorrow! I, however, am taking the little bean with me so Day 4 has just one more step.
The little bean. |
Since I only have one more day in between me and leaving for my trip. I'm going to go ahead and pack my diaper bag. And, since I'll be going on a plane, I'm actually going to pack a backpack instead and use it as my diaper bag.
Out with J.J. Cole. In with the North Face. |
Abi's a fan of the North Face. |
While I'm at the airport, Abilene is usually strapped to the front of me in the
Abilene was much smaller in this picture but we can use the Moby until she's 35lbs.! It's fantastic. |
This allows me to keep my hands free, ready to have my boarding pass or license checked, get through the security line quickly, and - in general - hopefully have less of an opportunity to be "that mom" at the airport.
So! I take 10 minutes to run down the "Diaper Bag" list and add all or almost all those items to the backpack. I have doubles of many of the items so if I need to use my actual diaper bag on Day 5 I'm not missing anything.
And there you have it!
Clothes? Done.
Backpack for Abilene? Done.
Toiletries? Pretty much done.
All that's left to do tomorrow is finish with the small stuff :) Which is grrrrreat for me because tomorrow we have Club for Young Life. Let me tell you what you don't want to do after hanging out with crazy high school kids for 4 hours on a Monday night: p-a-c-k.
And now (aside from a few random things) I don't have to!
