Our Long Awaited Hello
It's been five years almost to the day that I published my last post.
At the time, Abilene had just turned two and Andrew was not yet one.
I was in the throws of mommying two littles and, while I loved blogging, I began to feel like documenting everything online was somehow causing me to miss everything as well. I know you other momma's with iPhones and 99% full photo storage know that dichotomic feeling.
It's been five years though and a lot has happened in the Varner household.
Abi just turned 7 and Andrew is two months from turning 6. Both are in school and my days are 100% different than they were in 2013. I started a business. Yep, Adirondack Peach. About a year after I stopped blogging, the hubs suggested I make some items to sell at a craft fair as a creative outlet. Since then, that suggestion turned into an established Etsy shop that sells both to the public and wholesale to local shops as well as a renovated garage in which to pursue my 'creative outlet' 😂
The hubs also had a job change, well, sorta. Ministry in Saranac Lake grew so much that, playing double duty as a landscaper, began to be two full-time jobs instead of one full-time job consisting of two roles. In the fall of 2016, Brad was given the blessing to pursue full-time ministry if he could raise the $45,000 necessary to make the switch... in two months. The Lord was more than good to us, as He always is, and the money was raised. In February of 2017, Brad officially made the switch and not only oversees Young Life in Saranac Lake but now also oversees Young Life in all of the Adirondacks and North Country.
And that furry, non-human you see in the picture? That's Cheeto. He joined our family about this time last year and he has us all wrapped around his little, four-pound paws.
2018 is here and we find ourselves embarking on yet another big life change. And I find myself ready to get back in the writing saddle again.
So, hello again! I'm Brooke, and I can't wait to share our lives with you 💛
