We're having...

A BOY!!!

and, trust me, it was clearly a boy.
(Update: So sorry to confuse you. The ultrasound photo is simply a picture of his face and arm - not his manhood. So if you were looking for proof, you won't find in in the above photo.)

Oh my goodness, so we found out this amazing news on Valentine's Day (sorry to keep you waiting)! It was such an amazing gift.

I absolutely LOVE knowing the sex of the baby before he or she comes. I love being able to give the baby a pronoun instead of continuing to say "the baby" or "it" (I hate "it"). Oh goodness, and now I get to dream about what it will be like for Abilene to have a little brother. I get to think about (and eventually know) what it will mean to love a little boy and how that will be different from loving a little girl. I get to dream about how different our lives will be knowing there will be another little man in it and that is SO MUCH FUN!! Did I mention that I love knowing the sex of the baby?

I also get to make fun cupcakes with blue icing for Campaigners (we'll talk later about how much I love cake)!

This is why we didn't want to tell anyone until today. We wanted it to be a surprise for our Campaigners. It's been such a joy to share our growing family with high school students. Seriously, it really is a privilege to have them walk through our lives with us and love on us as we strive to love on them. That will be one of the hardest parts about moving - leaving our high school friends here in Chambersburg.

But, for now, we are still here. And, for now, we get to revel in the joys of welcoming a little boy into our family... with cupcakes :)

Thank you, Father, for how you bring new life into our lives and the joy of parenting these precious children that we don't deserve. We are so humbled and grateful that you would give us this task.
