So Blessed
I am so humbled by our gracious friends in Franklin County.
Yesterday, we were honored to attend a "Going Away Party" that the Young Life Committee held for us. I had no idea (going into it) what a blessing it would end up being.
I knew it would be fun. I knew I would love seeing so many sweet faces in one room. I knew the food would be great. But I didn't know how meaningful it would actually be.
Our dear friends, Chris and Tracy hosted the party. Tracy did the same for Abilene's baby shower. At the baby shower, she and many other wonderful women literally provided almost every single thing we'd need for Abilene (things that will also now serve for Baby #2). But even more importantly, they prayed for me and they prayed for Abilene. All those wonderful women took time out of that evening to pray and oh, what a blessing it was. I was so humbled by their prayers.
Yesterday, I actually sat in the same spot in Chris and Tracy's house that I had sat in at the baby shower. The Committee, the Leaders, Young Life kids and Young Life kid's parents blessed us with memories and words of affirmation about how our time was spent in Franklin County. I had no idea how much I would appreciate what they said.
And then, they prayed.
Just like at the baby shower, everyone in the room took time - made time- to pray for us, for the move, for our family, for our marriage, for the new baby, even for our extended family that we're moving farther away from.
I was floored. I was humbled. I am thankful.
If there is one thing that we have never gone without during our time in Chambersburg, it is love. No matter what part of the roller coaster we were on - high or low - we always, always knew that we were loved and appreciated by this area. They never failed to show us that, not even once. What an incredible blessing.
So Franklin County Family, if you're reading this, thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving myself, my husband and my daughter like we were your own. You will be dearly missed.
