Happy Birthday Baby!

Sweet Abi Lou turned one last Thursday (March 29th)! And she's pretty excited to be a one year old:

Woohoo!

Even in the midst of moving and craziness, we did indeed have a small party for her fashioned with $4 worth of Dollar Store decorations.

Gotta love the Dollar Store.

I was able to create a quick make-shift pendant banner out of Dollar Store paper and Dollar Store streamers. So awesome that her birthday coincides with Easter. Convenient pastels :)

We did the whole cake thing too. My good friend Lindsay made this cake and some cupcakes for Abilene's baby shower last February. Every one at the party ate the cupcakes and this cute, perfectly-baby-sized cake was left so I wrapped the goodness out of it with Saran Wrap and froze it for Abilene's first birthday!

Seriously, how cute is that!?

AND! It tasted great! I know because I definitely ate the rest of it myself (no shame). Lindsay's dang good at making cake.

Abilene didn't go crazy with the cake (she's a relatively clean eater in general) but she did eat it and she did seem to like it.

Regardless of what it looks like, he's really not shoving it in her mouth.

I'd say, considering how small her little body is, she ate a decent amount. (We paid for that later but it was worth it).

The hub's parents were there, we had my dad and step-mom FaceTime-ing on our computer and my step-dad Skype-ing on another computer. It was pretty neat to have the technology to share that moment with everyone live. I can't believe that's all Abilene will know as she grows up. I remember getting our first computer for goodness sakes!

Abilene was pretty excited about all of her out-of-town birthday guests.

After eating cake, we were able to open gifts with each gift giver - in person with Brad's parents and  through FaceTime with both of my parents. So special.

And, of course, we ended with the official family photo. I can't believe we'll be a family of 4 on her next birthday! Good times :)
