Single digits

So the other day, I was asked if we had a name for the up and coming baby boy. Ugh, not yet. I wondered why people have been asking me that as if I needed to know really soon so I consulted my trusty pregnancy app to see exactly how long this little bun's been baking.

Thirty. One. Weeks!

Holy goodness! I had no idea that's how far along we were in this process (isn't that horrible!). When I was pregnant with Abilene I could tell you exactly what week, day, minute (okay, maybe not minute) of how far along I was. I felt like I knew everything about her - every kick, every flip, every stat. But this time around, between a move, a job change, and an-almost-walking little girl, poor Baby #2 has to basically do back-flips in my belly to get my attention (which he does quite well).

I cannot believe that I am in the single digits of weeks left before Baby Boy Varner comes. Where has this pregnancy gone? And if he's like Abilene, I'm already out an extra week because she came at week 39.

I'd say we should move the "name-picking task" up a bit higher on our priority list.

Any suggestions?

  1. Are you going with an "A" name or do you care? I love coming up with names. I have had mine picked out since I was 10 years old. :)

    1. Awww, that's so awesome! We've talked about "A" names and "non-A" names, nothing's really seemed right though. We knew Abilene's name a year before we were even pregnant with her, so easy! Not so much with the boy. Brad's side takes the father's name as the middle name so his middle name will be Bradley for sure.

  2. There is no suggestions, it's already chosen: Andy.

My dream was real. His name is Andy! Andrew Bradley Varner. That name speaks manliness, studliness, and a future AM Cook Intern. There you go. Tell Andy I said hello

    1. It's true, Andrew has been in the running for a long time now. Call me sometime after you have your meeting. I've been really curious how it will go. Say "Hi" to your lovely wife for me!

  3. If you are going with A's (though I think that is a little weird and confusing sometimes with big families) you could name him after me ... the boy version of course: Aaron it is :)

  4. Hey Brooke! I hope all is going well! I just thought I would pitch in my two sense worth and say that I would have to agree with Branden. I think he defined the name wonderfully. Plus it's just a great name of course!

    1. "Manliness, Studliness and Future AM Cook Intern." Does that mean we'll be seeing you all summer up here next year?! Can't wait till August!
