A Sunday in Saranac

So the hubs is just about done with his 6-day-work-weeks for the spring. I'm definitely excited to be seeing him more but I'd say, thus far, we've done a good job taking advantage of every hour we have together on the one day he has off each week.

Sunday was no exception. We had so much fun.

The hubs and I had the opportunity to cheer on our good friends, Olivia and Courtney, as they ran the Lake Placid Marathon and Half Marathon Sunday morning. It was a beautiful day for a race...

And Abilene was totally ready to do some cheering.

Courtney ran her first half...

Isn't she so cute!?

She was smiling the whole time.

Crossing the finish line.

And Olivia completed her 2nd marathon.

Olivia seriously made it look so easy.

Her pace was spot on the entire race.

Totally killed it.

Of course, after watching Olivia and Courtney, the hubs wants to run next year.

I'm cool with that. We'll be that family with the strollers and the "Go Daddy, Go!" signs. And we'll love every mile, all 26.2 of them.

After the race, we had lunch with the finishers, ice cream (surprise, surprise) and took a little Sunday drive to look for new houses on the market (that's what everyone does on a Sunday, right?).

We decided to end the hubs' day off with a picnic and dip in Lake Colby.

Garlic Shrimp Pasta and Salad for dinner. It was pretty tasty.

Abilene was interested more in the sand though.

And totally confused as to why it kept sticking to her hands.

We attempted getting to the water but the sand was just way more interesting.

She made it like 3 feet.

Still super confused about the stickage.

But she was so dern cute playing in it.

Such a sweet face.

And we can't leave out those baby blues.

We did keep working on getting her towards the water though.

Abilene is becoming much more comfortable with walking.

No fear at all, she waded right in...

And couldn't wait to get her hands in the water.

Abilene did get more than her legs wet though.

Pre face plant.
Post face plant.

She did alright after the first time she hit the water.

Even did pretty decent after the second.

Not so much after the third.

Daddy death grip.

She reconsidered her options for a bit...

So we started slow again back at the shoreline.

It wasn't more than a couple minutes before she was right back at it.

Abilene even made a new friend.

Abi, meet Gwen.

We even saw a little family of ducks.

Lake Colby happens to be right across from the hospital so where we were Sunday night will also be my view from the labor and delivery room.

Not too shabby!

I keep trying to convince myself that it will make labor easier. A girl can hope, right?

Good glory, we had such a fun day. I can only imagine what we'll do with two days off!
