5 Years and Counting
September 8th, 2007
That's the day I married Brad Varner.
No, we didn't plan 09-08-07 on purpose but, lets be honest, it's pretty convenient.
Oh what a day it was.
Beautiful, emotional, surprising, and ridiculously fun.
We did almost all of it ourselves with the help of many, many friends. It would take me 17 more posts to show you how many friends helped us.
Almost everyone who attended the wedding also played a role in pulling it off from catering the meal to driving the boats.
Boats?
Yep, boats.
Brad and I got married where we met: at Saranac. There's a little island in the middle of Saranac Lake just big enough for a small chapel. Our lovely friends with PV licenses drove everyone out to the island.
And then my Daddy walked me down the aisle to Brad. Never in my life have I had such mixed emotions. It's heart-wrenching to "leave" your dad...
And heart-filling to join your mate.
And sealed them with a kiss.
Then we celebrated.
Because the commitment of two people to God and to each other is worth celebrating.
And you know all those friends that helped us pull our wedding off?
Well, they really like to dance.
And get a little crazy too.
Then we took off in a boat to a hotel on the other side of the lake.
The whole day was unreal. It was one big party and I would re-do it in a heartbeat...
Even if it meant marrying Brad Varner all over again :)

We made the hardest promises you can make in your life: to love the other for better or worse.
And sealed them with a kiss.
