WE MET OUR GOAL! AND A PRAYER REQUEST
Did you see THIS?!? Wow, wow, wow!!
That little green horizontal GoFundMe bar can't get any wider because... YOU HELPED US REACH OUR FUNDRAISING GOAL!!
We can officially give the total expected orphanage donation amount ($5,500) and we have all the funds we need for Brad and I to go to China.
We did decide a few months ago to also take Abi and Andrew with us to China for reasons I will blog about soon. However, because it's not absolutely necessary for them to go, their travel costs are not something we included in our fundraising amount. We will have some more to pay in that regard but man, oh, man are we in awe of God's provision through our family, friends, and the foundations that have helped us get here.
We announced that we were adopting 44 weeks ago.
I did some quick math and raising $43,700 in that amount of time equates to roughly $993/week or $142/day. Are. you. serious?!?
We cannot thank you enough for your generosity to us and to Benjamin. Benjamin doesn't even yet know the incredible people who have loved him in such a sacrificial way.
In the same sentence that we say 'thank you', we're also asking for prayer. Because of Brad's job, he has to go through a different vetting process to apply for a Chinese travel visa. Brad applied for his visa this morning, expecting to receive it by the end of the week. Instead, Brad was told that it will take between 2-3 weeks to receive. We're slated to leave by the end of the month - with plane tickets already paid for and reservations already made. Would you please pray for an expedited visa miracle?
Our God provided us with the funds needed to make this adoption happen. He is faithful. And we know that God will do the same with the timing - it is perfect whether it happens by the end of the month or whether we have to change everything because of a later visa. But God also wants His children to come to Him with their requests, so until we hear otherwise, we're praying that God would move visa-sized mountains to keep our itinerary on track to bring Benjamin home.
With much, much love and many, many, thanks,
Brooke
